I've got a 2018 BMW 740i and lately there's this tinny rattling noise whenever I accelerate from a stop, almost like a heat shield or something loose, but a buddy put it on a lift and said the flex pipe looks cracked and there might be a small leak near the mid pipe. It's not loud enough to fail inspection yet but honestly it sounds kinda cheap and it's driving me nuts. I took it to a normal muffler shop once and they wanted to just weld some random piece on there which I'm not comfortable with because I don't want to mess up the backpressure or cause drone on the highway. After reading a few threads here, it seems like finding a proper Exhaust Repair Specialist BMW Dubai is the way to go since these cars have sensitive oxygen sensors and valve setups in the exhaust that generic shops don't understand. Has anyone else had a flex pipe or flange gasket replaced on a G12 model and if so, roughly what did it set you back? Also wondering if a small leak before the rear muffler will affect fuel trims or if I can safely drive for another month while I save up. Really don't want to end up with a hacked together exhaust that ruins the quiet comfort these cars are known for.
