I Ordered an Essay From EssayPay and Reviewed the Final Result Honestly

I approached this order less as a customer looking for a quick paper and more as someone trying to find out whether the finished work would actually survive a demanding assignment brief. I chose a 1,500-word college-level scenario-forecast paper on commercial space tourism regulation through 2035, gave the writer seven days, and supplied the full instructions rather than a shortened summary.

My overall impression was positive, but not uncritical. The finished paper EssayPay covered the major requirements, used recent sources, compared the two regulatory scenarios, and had a recognizable argument rather than simply summarizing articles. At the same time, I found a few places where I would still want to edit the paper myself before using it as a reference model. That distinction matters because the service itself describes delivered papers as model or reference materials, not something students should submit without considering their institution's academic-integrity rules.

What interested me most was not whether every sentence sounded polished. I wanted to see what happened when I gave a writing service an assignment with several moving parts, including a forecast, competing regulatory models, measurable variables, recent evidence, and Harvard referencing.

Why I picked this particular assignment

I deliberately avoided ordering an easy five-paragraph essay. A simple opinion paper would tell me very little about how a service handles research and complicated instructions.

The space-tourism assignment was much more useful as a test because it required the writer to do several things simultaneously:

  • establish a present-day baseline;

  • discuss launch frequency, liability, emissions and passenger safety;

  • compare light-touch regulation with aviation-style oversight;

  • construct two conditional scenarios through 2035;

  • identify drivers, indicators and affected groups;

  • include a nonlinear variable;

  • recommend a no-regret strategy;

  • identify one decision that should be postponed;

  • use at least six recent sources;

  • include at least three sources from 2024–2026;

  • follow Harvard referencing;

  • stay between 1,400 and 1,700 words.

I kept the conditions deliberately normal: college level, 1,500 words and a seven-day deadline. The seven-day window mattered to me because it gave enough time for research without turning the test into an emergency-order experiment. The service lists seven days as a standard college turnaround and uses deadline, academic level and page count when calculating price.

I also wanted to see whether the writer would actually respond to the structure of the brief rather than producing a generic article about space tourism.

What happened after I placed the order

The ordering process itself was fairly straightforward. The platform uses a managed writer-matching model, so I wasn't comparing dozens of writer profiles and trying to decide which person understood regulatory policy. The order form asked for the paper type, academic level, length, deadline and instructions.

That part made sense for this assignment. I had already spent enough time thinking about the topic; I didn't particularly want to spend another hour deciding which writer's profile looked most convincing.

One feature I paid attention to was communication. The service says customers can communicate with the assigned writer through the account dashboard. For a complicated assignment, that is more important to me than it would be for a basic proofreading job. A writer can be excellent at research and still misunderstand one unusual requirement.

In my case, the important thing was that the detailed assignment instructions were attached to the order rather than reduced to something vague such as "write about space tourism regulation."

The service also states that it operates a strict no-AI policy and that its writers are prohibited from using AI tools or pre-written content. I treated that as a company policy rather than something I could independently prove simply by reading the finished paper. The writing did not give me an obvious reason to assume it had been generated automatically, but I wouldn't pretend that stylistic impressions can establish authorship with certainty.

The baseline was where I looked first

When the paper arrived, I didn't begin by reading the introduction for style. I opened the references and checked whether the writer had understood the research requirement.

This was important because the assignment asked for a present-day baseline before making a forecast. That is easy to get wrong. A paper can spend 1,500 words talking about what space tourism might become while barely explaining where the industry stands today.

The final paper did better than I expected here.

It used FAA data showing how quickly commercial space activity has expanded. The FAA reported 148 licensed commercial space operations in fiscal year 2024, consisting of 142 launches and six reentries. That represented a record and was more than 30% above the previous year (Federal Aviation Administration, 2024).

That number gave the forecast something concrete to build on. It also helped explain why regulation is becoming a more immediate policy issue rather than a theoretical question.

The paper also correctly distinguished between regulating the vehicle and regulating the people inside it. That distinction is surprisingly important. Current FAA rules require operators to provide spaceflight participants with information about risks and obtain informed consent, but congressional limits have restricted the FAA's authority to regulate occupant safety in the same way aviation authorities regulate airline passengers.

That was one of the strongest parts of the paper because it prevented the comparison with commercial aviation from becoming simplistic.

The two scenarios were the real test

The assignment required two futures, not one prediction.

The first was a light-touch regulatory scenario. The basic assumption was that governments would continue relying heavily on licensing, disclosure, informed consent and operator responsibility while avoiding a full aviation-style passenger-safety regime.

The second scenario involved stronger aviation-style oversight, with more prescriptive requirements around passenger safety, certification and operational standards.

What I liked was that the paper did not describe one scenario as "good" and the other as "bad." Instead, it connected each scenario to conditions that could make it more likely.

For the lighter-touch scenario, the main drivers included continued rapid technological development, pressure to reduce regulatory delays and confidence that existing licensing mechanisms could protect the public outside the vehicle.

For the stronger-oversight scenario, the drivers included increased flight frequency, a serious passenger-safety event and growing political pressure for standardized protection.

That structure is consistent with recent academic discussion. Pattanayak (2024), for example, identifies safety, transparency, accountability and equitable access as important regulatory issues as commercial space tourism develops. Langston and Brickhouse (2024) similarly argue that commercial spaceflight creates regulatory challenges because spaceflight remains inherently risky while the industry is developing quickly.

The paper also identified leading indicators for each scenario. That was something I specifically looked for because a forecast becomes much more useful when it tells the reader what to watch next.

Emissions were more complicated than I expected

The environmental section was probably the biggest surprise for me.

Before ordering the paper, I expected emissions to appear as a fairly standard paragraph about rockets producing carbon emissions. Instead, the research raised a more interesting problem: the intensity of emissions per passenger can be enormous even though the overall number of space-tourism flights remains tiny compared with commercial aviation.

A 2025 PLOS One study estimated that suborbital space tourism could produce 400 to 1,000 times more CO₂ per passenger-hour than commercial aviation, although the authors also emphasized uncertainty and differences between vehicle and fuel types (PLOS One, 2025).

That became useful to the forecast because it introduced a variable that ordinary trend extrapolation could miss. If launch frequency increases while propulsion technology changes substantially, simply extending today's emissions per flight into 2035 could be misleading.

The paper used that idea as its nonlinear or surprise variable: propulsion technology and its environmental consequences could change the economics and political acceptability of space tourism much faster than a simple "more flights = proportionally more emissions" model would suggest.

That was exactly the kind of reasoning the assignment called for.

Liability was the weakest section

The biggest weakness I found was the discussion of liability.

It wasn't wrong, but it was more compressed than I wanted. The paper explained that international space law places substantial responsibility on states while private commercial operators increasingly perform the actual activity. That creates questions about passenger rights, insurance and responsibility when something goes wrong.

Recent research makes this problem particularly interesting. A 2026 study of liability in the emerging space-tourism industry argues that the existing state-centered framework leaves gaps concerning direct private-operator liability, passenger protection and dispute resolution.

The order did mention these issues, but I would have preferred another paragraph distinguishing passenger injury from damage to uninvolved third parties. Those are not exactly the same regulatory problem.

This was also a useful reminder that meeting the minimum word count does not mean every section receives equal analytical depth.

International coordination was handled better

The international section was stronger.

Rather than pretending that one country's regulatory model could simply become a global standard, the paper connected commercial space activity with broader international coordination around space safety and sustainability.

That approach is supported by recent United Nations work. UNOOSA's 2024 annual report highlights international cooperation, information sharing, space-safety coordination and implementation of long-term sustainability guidelines as continuing priorities.

The paper also connected regulation with investment. That made sense because regulatory uncertainty doesn't only affect passengers. It can affect operators, insurers, investors, launch providers and governments deciding where commercial activity should be based.

An OECD analysis published in 2024 similarly notes that increasing launch activity and private investment are reshaping the space economy and that policy choices can influence the quality and direction of future investment.

How I judged the final paper

I didn't judge it by asking whether I personally liked every sentence.

I used five practical criteria:

The sourcing was also better than I expected. The assignment required at least six sources, including three from 2024–2026, and the final version included recent government, academic and institutional material rather than relying entirely on old space-policy documents.

The FAA's current regulatory framework was particularly useful because it shows that commercial human spaceflight is already regulated in significant ways, even though passenger safety oversight is deliberately constrained.

I did, however, notice some places where the Harvard formatting could use a final editorial pass. That is not unusual with a research-heavy assignment. A citation being present is not automatically the same thing as perfect referencing.

What I would change before using it

If I repeated the test, I would make one major change: I would give the writer a slightly more explicit evaluation rubric.

The original instructions were detailed, but I would now separate the requirements into a checklist and ask for each one to be visibly addressed. That would make it easier to see whether something such as "one trigger or leading indicator for each scenario" had been handled deliberately rather than incidentally.

I would also give myself more time after delivery. The seven-day deadline worked for the writing process, but the useful part of the experience was actually the review afterward.

That is why I would not describe the result as something I could simply copy and forget about.

For students, that distinction is important. The service states that its papers are model papers and reference materials and that users remain responsible for following their institution's academic-integrity rules. I think that is the sensible way to approach this kind of material anyway. A paper can demonstrate how an argument was constructed without becoming a substitute for understanding the assignment.

I also found the site's educational resources useful as a separate part of the experience. Its writing tools include an essay checker, while its guides cover different essay and academic-writing formats. I see more value in those resources when the goal is reviewing or improving your own work than when you're simply looking for someone else to produce text.

My honest verdict

Would I order this particular type of assignment again?

Based on this test, yes, but I would treat the delivered paper as a starting point for review rather than a finished product that requires no thought from me.

The strongest evidence was not that the prose sounded impressive. It was that the writer managed to hold together a complicated brief involving regulation, safety, liability, emissions, international coordination and conditional forecasting without losing the central comparison.

The weaker point was depth. A 1,500-word limit forces choices, and the liability discussion in particular could have benefited from more space.

I also wouldn't generalize my experience too far. One order tells me what happened with one assignment under one set of conditions. It doesn't establish that every writer, subject, deadline or order will produce the same result.

What I learned from the test is simpler: if I want to evaluate an academic writing service seriously, I shouldn't choose an easy assignment and judge it by whether the paragraphs sound polished. A complicated brief exposes much more. It shows whether the writer can follow instructions, research current evidence, distinguish facts from forecasts, deal with competing assumptions and keep the argument coherent under a word limit.

That was the useful part of my order. The final paper wasn't flawless, but it gave me enough substance to review, question and improve. For me, that is a much more meaningful result than simply receiving 1,500 words that happen to look finished.
